- Client: Prediction Market Product, an early-stage Web3 team
- Category: DeFi / Prediction Markets
- Engagement: Dedicated team, product and engineering
- Duration: 3 months, concept to mainnet launch
- Key result: 100K+ users, $2M in Foundation funding
Catching a fast-moving narrative in three months, without cutting corners on reliability, safety, or a smooth trading experience.
The client wanted to launch a prediction market platform quickly to capture a narrative that was moving fast across the market. Speed was the priority, but not at the cost of the product itself. They needed an order book that stayed smooth under load, settlement logic that couldn’t be gamed, and an experience reliable enough to hold user trust from day one. The team had a strong sense of urgency but no fixed view yet on which prediction-market model, or which technical approach, would get them there fastest without breaking under real usage.
The client evaluated a few development partners and chose us for our hands-on experience with order-book systems and hybrid on-chain/off-chain settlement, architecture patterns most teams only understand in theory. What tipped the decision was our insistence on walking them through the trade-offs before committing to a model, rather than pitching a pre-packaged solution on day one.
A dedicated team embedded with the client from week one, structured to move fast without losing sight of reliability.
1 Product Manager, 1 Business Analyst, 1 Tech Lead, 2 smart contract engineers, 2 backend engineers, 2 frontend engineers, 1 UI/UX Designer, 1 DevOps Engineer, and 1 QA engineer: nine specialists, one dedicated pod.
Agile delivery with daily standups and weekly demos, so the client could see the order book and market flows working end-to-end from week three onward.
A dedicated smart-contract security pass integrated into the sprint cycle, not bolted on at the end.
Off-chain order matching for speed, on-chain settlement for finality and custody, avoiding the gas costs and latency of a fully on-chain order book, while keeping resolution trust-minimized through an optimistic-oracle dispute window instead of a centralized admin key.
A low-latency off-chain order book (Node.js/Go) with WebSocket order streaming and Redis-backed order state for sub-second updates, plus position and rate limits with wash-trading detection before orders hit settlement.
Solidity smart contracts on an EVM-compatible L2, handling deposits, position settlement, and market resolution.
An optimistic-oracle pattern with a dispute window, backed by a fallback multisig for edge cases.
Frontend built in React/TypeScript with a WebSocket-driven live order book and position views. Tech stack: Solidity · EVM L2 · Node.js/Go · Redis · PostgreSQL · WebSockets · React/TypeScript
Speed and reliability usually pull in opposite directions: the fastest path to launch is rarely the most robust one. Choosing a hybrid off-chain/on-chain design meant the matching engine could iterate quickly in code while settlement stayed minimal and auditable on-chain, rather than trying to optimize a fully on-chain order book under time pressure.
Load and edge-case testing, including thin order books, rapid resolution events, concurrent settlement, and simulated 10x traffic spikes, ran in parallel with feature development throughout, rather than as a separate phase bolted on at the end.
A focused smart-contract audit on the settlement and resolution contracts, the highest-risk surface, ran in the final three weeks. Because reliability work was built into the schedule from day one rather than added afterward, the 3-month timeline never required trading off stability for speed.
Model selection, product idea validation, UI/UX design, contract architecture.
Matching engine, settlement contracts, oracle/resolution flow.
Load testing, smart contract audit, security hardening, launch.
The client launched fast enough to ride the prediction-market narrative while it was peaking, and the platform held up under real usage from day one. The launch earned $2M in funding from a leading Web3 foundation and crossed 100,000 users shortly after, with zero settlement disputes going unresolved past the dispute window.
